Equipment

  • Microwave

Ingredients

  • 2 bags of microwave popcorn or about 7 oz. popcorn kernels for stovetop popping
  • 12 oz. white chocolate chips high quality for the best flavor!
  • 1 tablespoon butter unsalted works best
  • Sweet and Salty Magic optional:
  • ΒΌ teaspoon salt to taste
  • Chopped nuts like almonds or peanuts
  • Dried fruit like cranberries or raisins
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  • Popcorn Party! Make some popcorn however you like it best. Microwave bags are a lifesaver, or you can pop your own kernels on the stovetop in a pot with a lid. Just be sure to remove any un-popped kernels before moving on to the melty magic!
  • Melty Magic! Grab a medium-sized pot and put it on the stovetop over low heat. Here comes the fun part: toss in your white chocolate chips and that pat of butter. Now, grab a spoon and get ready to stir! We want everything melted together and smooth, like creamy, melty magic. Keep stirring until it looks like...well, melted chocolate magic!
  • Chocolate Popcorn Paradise! Carefully pour that melted chocolate mixture over your popcorn in a big bowl. Use a spoon or even your hands (be careful, it might be hot!) to gently toss the popcorn until it's all coated in that yummy chocolate.
  • Mix-in Madness (optional): Feeling like a popcorn Picasso? If you have any chopped nuts, dried fruit, mini marshmallows, or sprinkles leftover, this is your moment to shine! Toss them in the popcorn bowl and gently fold them into the mixture with a spoon or your hands. Be careful, the chocolate might still be warm! This is your chance to get creative and add some extra flavor and fun to your white chocolate popcorn.
  • Cool Down Time! Grab a baking sheet and line it with some parchment paper. Spread out your chocolatey popcorn mixture on the sheet and let it cool completely. The chocolate will harden as it cools, turning into a delicious treat!
  • Break and Enjoy! Once everything is cool and hardened, break the popcorn into pieces and dig in! Enjoy your amazing homemade white chocolate popcorn!
